All of the funds raised by Tulip Thrift Store will be used to establish and operate the Brillo de Mujer Home.

What is the Brillo de Mujer Home?

Brillo de Mujer Home/A Woman’s Inner Light is an organization which will operate a transitional shelter for women survivors of domestic abuse in Jasper County, South Carolina. Brillo de Mujer Home partners with Creative Church in Hardeeville.  The founders of the shelter are persons of faith, but we offer our compassion and services to all women and children survivors of domestic violence. Brillo de Mujer Home will be open to women and children seeking shelter after being in an emergency shelter.

What does Brillo de Mujer mean?

Brillo de Mujer is Spanish for, “a woman’s inner light, shining from within.” The founder of Brillo de Mujer Home is Patricia Lopez, a survivor of domestic violence and pastor of a church in the Lowcountry. She has a vision of a haven for hope and healing that will allow her fellow survivors to discover the light within their hearts that is already there. From that strength, the women will receive opportunities for housing, employment and education for herself and her children. Together, we are stronger.
